A simulator for the new subsea robots (WORK ROV)

At DNT Offshore in Ravenna, a special work ROV UHD simulator has been in operation for several months. Supplied by the US company Schilling Robotics, which has already delivered two of the four new work ROV UHDs ordered by BOURBON, it trains the pilots and crew who will operate these very powerful robots. The simulator very realistically uses 3D modeling to recreate underwater working conditions and offers the possibility of introducing parameters of weather conditions and memorizing different types of missions: Christmas tree operations, pipe-lines, platform structures, debris collection, etc. Moreover, it can be programmed according to specific data provided by clients for their equipment and the work to be performed.
