The ROV fleet

A fleet of 11 subsea robots

Bourbon Subsea Services’ fleet of underwater robots is very multi-functional and offers great flexibility.

It consists of 8 internationally recognized all-electric ROVs (4 Small Electric ROVs and 4 High Capability Electric ROVs):

  • light, highly mobile observation robots, ideal for diving support, WROV support and visual inspections in shallow water
  • compact electric “Cougar Freeswimming” ROVs for operations at depths of up to 600 meters, ideal for instrumental surveys and light construction work in shallow water
  • compact electric “Cougar Deepwater” ROVs for operations at depths of up to 2,000 meters, ideal for instrumental surveys and light construction work in deep water.

The fleet also includes 3 work UHD ROVs (BOURBON UHD 4000), capable of handling loads from a few kilos up to 3.5 tons. They are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment including deep positioning to ensure precision and stability, the latest-generation multiplex system to transmit a high quality signal, high-definition cameras, a sophisticated control system, etc.

  • FALCON-type ROVs

ROV Falcon The Falcon Seaeye is a modern observation ROV that is light and highly mobile (IMCA Class I / II), ideal for diving support and WROV, subsea visual inspections and NDT in shallow water.

A large range of sensors and tools are available for the Falcon (such as the single function gripstick manipulator, a powered rotating brush for spot cleaning, WTM and FMD ultrasonic gauges, CP probes, low-light SIT cameras, USBL transponders, etc.).

  • COUGAR-type ROVs

ROV COUGAR The Cougar Seaeye is a compact electrical Work ROV (IMCA Class II / III), ideal for light construction work and instrumental surveys in deep and shallow water.

A considerable number of electric and hydraulic tools are available for the Cougar (such as dual multifunction heavy-duty manipulators, torque tools, cable/pipe cutters, HP waterjets, AX/VX gasket replacement tools, etc.).

Pipe trackers, dual head profilers, multibeam bathymetric systems, and a range of other sensors can be installed and simultaneously interfaced on the Cougar.

  • UHD Work ROVs

    The BOURBON UHD 4000:

This new 5th-generation ROV developed by Schilling Robotics for BOURBON’s Subsea Services Activity is equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Capable of operating at a depth of 4,000 meters, this ROV enables crews to carry out a wide range of operations. It has a very powerful 200 HP electro-hydraulic engine and a 5,000-kg lifting capacity and is the newest addition to the Bourbon Subsea Services fleet.

Thanks to its 7 thrusters, the Bourbon UHD 4000 has a propulsion capacity of 1,000 kg, either vertically or horizontally.

In terms of ergonomics, this robot has been designed to provide large cargo capacity – so it can also carry a great many tools – and easy access for maintenance of its various electronic and hydraulic components.
